SD Test — Coverage

GOAL — Build the best 3×3 lineup you can from your roster. Your score moves the gauge from red to yellow to GREEN. Aim for green!

THE GAUGE — It is set for YOUR roster. Before you start, the computer plays this exact roster hundreds of times with practice coaches, from rookies to sharp ones, using the same rules. RED is the bottom quarter of their scores, YELLOW is the middle half, and GREEN is the top quarter. Green is a target, not a cap: you can score higher.

THE GRID — The center is your STAR, the 4 edges are STARTERS, and the 4 corners are the BENCH. You fill them in that order.

SYNERGY — Cards that touch form a pair. For each stat, the pair uses the higher of its two ratings and compares it to 70. The pair scores based on its weakest stat, so partners should cover each other's weaknesses. Each card gets half the credit.

THE CROSS — Your star and 4 starters make a cross. Their ratings in each stat are added up against 70, and anything below 70 hurts twice as much. Your weakest stats count the most, so a balanced cross scores best.

6TH MAN ⚡2X — Once your starters are set, the bench corner next to your weakest starters becomes the 6th Man (gray outline). A good pairing there counts double for that card.

3-POINT RULES — A weak shooter has a 3P rating under 70.
• If 2 or more of your 5 starters are weak shooters, each one loses half of the points it earns you. One weak shooter is safe.
• Any two touching cards that are both weak shooters cost you 5 points.

±WINDOW — The small ± number on each card is how much it can swing. When you place a card, all its ratings move up or down together by up to that many points. ±0 is steady; ±5 is a gamble.

MORALE — Once your 6th Man slot is filled, any 80+ player still left on the bench takes a permanent hit to all 5 stats. The bigger the star, the bigger the hit (their overall minus 79).
